One of the leading regional theaters in the country, Dallas Theater Center (DTC) performs to an audience of more than 90,000 North Texas residents annually. Facilities Manager
Dallas Theater Center is currently seeking a Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager reports to the Associate General Manager, assisting with the coordination and facilitation of the Facilities department; including, but not limited to: facility maintenance, department budgeting, project scheduling, follow up, event set-up, rental inquiries and security.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute both internal and external work orders by troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions
- Special event work, including setup, required which may include nights and weekends
- Provide security for facilities as requested.
- Maintain facilities budget worksheets, purchase orders, and other departmental paperwork
- Assist in facilitation of third party rentals of DTC spaces
- Serve as a liaison to tenants of DTC spaces
- Plan and implement capital projects for DTC properties by recommending projects based on facility needs,
- requesting and evaluating bids from third party contractors, assessing budget implications and managing project
- through completion
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Associate General Manager

Dallas Theater Center seeks qualified Stage Management Apprentice to serve as a member of the Stage Management team for the 2010-2011 season. Responsibilities include: assisting AEA Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager in rehearsals and performances, assisting in creation of organizational paperwork, serving as a member of the run crew, etc. Appropriate applicants will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Theater or other applicable field, and/or previous professional experience. Position begins early August, 2010 and runs through mid August, 2011. This is a paid position. Housing is not provided. Stage Management Observers
Dallas Theater Center seeks Stage Management Observers for Summer 2010 as well as 2010-2011 season. SM Observers will assist the Stage Management staff and have the opportunity to observe and participate in DTC rehearsals and tech rehearsals. This a volunteer position and it is best suited, but not limited, to those interested in pursuing Stage Management as a career. Appropriate applicants may seek professional internship credit with his/her current college or university (as appropriate). There are multiple openings for this position. Scheduling is part time, flexible and may be short or long term, but a commitment is required. Dallas/Fort Worth locals are encouraged to apply as housing is not provided. DTC’s SUMMERSTAGE offers the very best in theater daycamps for ages 4–18. Students rotate through a series of classes daily, designed to be age-appropriately challenging. With the guidance of professional artists and educators, students develop and cultivate theater skills that will serve them well in life. Courses include voice, movement, storydrama, visual arts, acting and musical theater. One and two-week sessions are available with half-day and full-day options throughout June and July. All sessions are Monday through Friday, each culminating with a final performance.
SEEKING: SummerStage Intern*
This exciting summer internship is a hands-on, engaging opportunity for an individual interested in Arts Education. The SummerStage Intern is a vital, integral part of the Education and Community Programs Department (*sponsored by ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program)
The SummerStage Intern’s primary responsibilities are in service of planning and executing DTC’s SummerStage Theater Day Camps and the Pre-College Actor Training Program (ATP) for teens.
Job Duties include (but not limited to):

Design curriculum and serve as Teaching Artist for one SummerStage class (one-hour class meets twice/week)

Direct lunchtime theater activities

Observe classes taught by SummerStage faculty

Provide Director of Education with Summerstage event support, to include overall design, aesthetic, and crafting of students and parents experience and expectations

Provide general clerical support to include light filing, correspondence, class scheduling and general administration
Requirements: Applicant must have completed at least one year of college, and must be returning to school as a full-time sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate in fall 2010.
Hours: June 9 – August 6, 2010, Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm
Salary: $3000 for 8 weeks

This position is ideal for persons with an interest in Theater Education. Selected candidates will gain experience working with children, professional teaching artists and the education department of a large regional theater.
